Attend the City Council/Planning Commission Project Briefing

The project team will be presenting the Draft Philomath Transportation System Plan and recommended policy and code amendments (referred to as Technical Memoranda  #12a and #12b) at a joint meeting of the City Council and Planning Commission on April 30, 2018 at 7:00 PM. The purpose of this meeting is to inform Councilors and Commissioners of the changes being recommended and to receive their input prior to beginning the public hearings process for adoption. This informational meeting is not a formal hearing and no decisions will be made at this time. The public is encouraged to attend.

Attend the Final Citizen Advisory Committee Meeting

The final Citizen Advisory Committee meeting will be held on April 17 between 5:30 and 7:30 PM at City Hall. At this meeting, we’ll be reviewing and discussing the Draft Philomath Transportation System Plan, as well as the draft policy and code amendments needed to support implementation (referred to as Technical Memoranda #12a and #12b). The public is welcome to attend and listen to the discussion. A brief comment period will be reserved for any public attendees wishing to provide input to the committee. Draft Philomath Transportation System Plan

The Draft Philomath Transportation System Plan is now available for review, along with draft policy and code amendments needed to support implementation (referred to as Technical Memoranda #12a and #12b). These materials will be reviewed and discussed with the project Technical Advisory Committee and Citizen Advisory Committee and will be presented to City Council and the Planning Commission at a joint briefing prior to beginning the public hearings process for adoption. The public is welcome to attend the Citizen Advisory Committee meeting and joint City Council/Planning Commission briefing. The dates for these meetings will be shared once they have been scheduled.

These discussions may lead to changes in the Draft Transportation System Plan, policies, and code amendments prior to its submittal for adoption. If you would like to provide comments to the project team for consideration, you can do so through this website or by providing them to:

Transportation System Plan Update Open House June 15

OPEN HOUSE: June 15, 2017, 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM at Kugler Community Hall, City Park (Note location change)

What is the Transportation System Plan?

The Transportation System Plan (TSP) is a long-range document that guides the expansion and operation of our transportation network for all modes of travel over the next 20 years. The City’s current TSP was adopted in 1999 and is currently being updated to reflect the latest community vision, infrastructure systems, and growth projections.

The project team has worked with the TSP Citizen Advisory Committee to develop recommended transportation system improvements. These include new roadways to support future development, highway crossing improvements for pedestrians, a network of trails to make walking and biking more comfortable, strategies to help support and expand transit service, and much more. Funding for construction of future projects will be limited.

Get involved, tell us what you think

You are invited to come to this open house, discuss the recommendations with the project team, and tell us which projects should be the highest priorities. The project team will consider public input when developing the draft TSP update later this summer.

Open House Thank You

Thank you to everyone who visited the Open House at City Hall on Dec 12th.

We had a ton of great conversations and got some really good comments and feedback from everyone who was there or participated in the virtual open house that closed on Dec. 21st.

Those comments will be incorporated into the finalized versions of the Existing Conditions and Future Conditions memos, and the upcoming project development process.  Stay tuned for those documents to be posted in the Document Library.

Even if you didn’t make it to the open house, we’d still love to hear your comments through the online form or through the interactive map.
