Open House Thank You

Thank you to everyone who visited the Open House at City Hall on Dec 12th.

We had a ton of great conversations and got some really good comments and feedback from everyone who was there or participated in the virtual open house that closed on Dec. 21st.

Those comments will be incorporated into the finalized versions of the Existing Conditions and Future Conditions memos, and the upcoming project development process.  Stay tuned for those documents to be posted in the Document Library.

Even if you didn’t make it to the open house, we’d still love to hear your comments through the online form or through the interactive map.

Get involved and tell us what you think

The project team has recently completed work on the initial phase of the TSP update. This included establishment of goals and objectives, coordination with other local and regional plans, and an evaluation of how the transportation system functions today, as well as 20 years into the future.

Come to the open house and talk with the project team about your ideas for how transportation should be improved in Philomath. Key topics being discussed include:

  • Transportation goals to work towards over the next 20 years
  • Areas where transportation system or service improvements are needed
  • Your ideas for solutions to improve conditions for walking, biking, public transit, driving, and freight movement

The input you provide at the open house will help guide the project team through the next phase, which involves developing a set of recommended projects and programs to improve transportation options and support Philomath’s continued growth through the year 2040. A second open house will follow that effort so we can discuss and improve on these recommendations with the community.

If you can’t make it in person, you can view all open house materials online from December 12 through December 16, and you can always provide comments to the team or through the interactive map.

Come visit us at the Philomath Frolic & Rodeo!

The project team will be hosting an information kiosk at the Philomath Frolic & Rodeo on Saturday July 9, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. This event provides an opportunity to discuss transportation needs in the city, collect community input, and share information about the TSP update process.

We are currently finishing the evaluation of existing transportation conditions in Philomath. We’d like to hear your thoughts on what types of improvements should be made a priority. If you’re in the area, please stop by, talk to our staff, and tell us what you think!

City Council/Planning Commission Project Briefing Summary

The Philomath City Council and Planning Commission had a joint meeting on December 14th, 2016 where an overview of the Transportation System Plan (TSP) Update was given. Topics covered included:
